The Architecture, Urbanism, and Building Sciences Bachelor’s degree programme at TU Delft culminates in the Design 6 project (ON6), in which students are tasked with designing an architectural artifact. Alongside this, they complete the theoretical course Academic Skills 3 – Academic Design Reflection (AC3), which focuses on reflective thinking about their design process. While ON6 emphasizes the practical aspects of design, the course Academic Design Reflection encourages students to critically analyse their approach, deepening their understanding of the architectural design process. By the end of the course, students not only develop a clear, well-supported design vision but also gain valuable insights into how research informs and enhances the design process.
