Bueu is a fishing village in Galicia with a deep historical connection to the sea. The former municipal slaughterhouse, built in 1955 and located along the bay of Pontevedra on Agrelo Beach, was refurbished by the Bueu Municipality to promote the region’s maritime heritage. The renovation of the building and its transformation into the Agrelo Coastline Interpretation Centre, preserving its original structure and materials, provides a new facility that celebrates and preserves the town’s enduring relationship with the sea, serving as a cultural landmark that highlights Bueu’s seafaring traditions and coastal identity.
