Part of the Social Approach for the Environmental Improvement of Traditional Rural Settlements [Enfoque Social para la Mejora Ambiental de Asentamientos Rurales Tradicionales , ESMAART] project, directed by Jorge Rodríguez Álvarez from the Universidade da Coruña (PI), which aims to create an integrated methodology for rural planning and regeneration by adopting a circular, social, and inclusive approach that considers local needs and landscape values. The project emphasizes community-based management of territorial energy resources to promote energy self-sufficiency and improve the provision of basic services. In collaboration with Cristina Botana, as external researchers, contributions were made to the “Implementing a Gender-based Perspective in Rural Planning” work package through the development of a theoretical framework and the conceptualization of indicators, which were further refined through case studies and pilot programs.
